How our data recovery process operates

• Once we receive your hard drive it will be logged into our system & queued for evaluation by one of our data recovery engineers.
• An initial diagnosis will be conducted which determines the failure mode of the drive, failure modes can be;
• Logical, for example where a drive is working, but the data is no longer accessible.
• electronic failure where one or more components have failed on the electronics board on the underside of the drive, or internal head pre-amplifier circuitry has failed. Both require temporary repairs made so your data can be accessed.
• mechanical failure, for example the motor has failed or the hard disk's heads are clicking.
• After the initial diagnosis we can give you a total recovery cost and estimated completion date.
• Upon receiving your approval to proceed, your hard drive will be "cloned" (The integrity of your data is never placed in jeopardy as all recovery procedures are performed on an exact sector by sector duplicate of your original drive) and re-queued for the actual recovery procedures.
• If your hard drive is repairable, and in our opinion will stay repaired, we will return your data on your repaired drive. If it is determined that your drive cannot be repaired, we can return your recovered data in a variety of ways, including copying it to a new hard drive, writeable CD, Zip/Jazz cartridge, or tape system.
• The data on the image media is tested for accessibility and that the critical files open within their respective programs, any further logical repairs are made if necessary.
• We will keep a copy of your data for one week to ensure the successful re-installation of your data.
